American Pharmacies (APRx) is a member-owned, for-profit buying cooperative founded in 2002 to safeguard the interests of community pharmacies. In every undertaking, APRx strives to be the top organization for protecting independent pharmacies’ financial, political and legal rights. We aim to defend and promote the development of community pharmacies owned by independent pharmacists by using collective buying power, advocating for beneficial laws, promoting common sense regulation, and increasing the value of investment for shareholders. We accomplish this through: – leveraging the collective buying power of our members to secure the most advantageous wholesaler agreements, involving ourselves in shaping the outcomes of legislative, regulatory and legal issues essential for the success of independent pharmacy, and – increasing member profits by distributing dividends, rebates discounting vendor prices and other new revenue streams.
